Die 30ste Oscar-toekenningsaand is op 26 Maart 1958 deur die Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in Hollywood gehou om erkenning te gee aan die rolprente van 1957.

Die Oscar vir draaiboek gebaseer op materiaal van ’n ander medium is toegeken aan Pierre Boulle vir The Bridge on the River Kwai, ondanks die feit dat hy nie kon Engels praat nie. Die eintlike skrywers, Carl Foreman en Michael Wilson, was in dié tyd op ’n swartlys en hul werk is nie op die skerm erken nie. Foreman en Wilson het intussen by die Academy erkenning vir hul bydrae gekry.

Joanne Woodward se Oscar vir beste aktrise in The Three Faces of Eve was die laaste keer in ’n lang tyd dat ’n rolprent vir beste aktrise gewen het sonder dat dit enige ander benoeming gekry het. Dit is eers 31 jaar later deur Jodie Foster geëwenaar vir haar rol in The Accused.

Peyton Place het die rekord van The Little Foxes geëwenaar vir die prent met die meeste benoemings sonder om ’n enkele prys te wen (9). Dit is eers in 1977 oortref deur The Turning Point, wat 11 benoemings gekry het sonder om te wen. Laasgenoemde rekord is in 1985 geëwenaar deur The Color Purple. Peyton Place het ook ’n rekord opgestel as die prent met die meeste akteursbenoemings sonder om een te wen (5). Dié rekord is een keer geëwenaar, in 1964 deur Tom Jones.
