Ferraria macrochlamys is 'n meerjarige plant en geofiet wat tot die genus Ferraria behoort en is deel van die fynbos en Sukkulente Karoo. Die spesie is endemies aan die Noord-Kaap en word vanaf Steinkopf tot by Garies gevind.
