Hy is veral bekend vir sy Arcosanti-projek, 'n ekostad in Arizona. Hy was ook die stigter van die opvoedkundige Cosanti-stigting gewees. Soleri het as dosent by die Arizona State University se kollege van argitektuur gewerk en ontvang in 2006 die National Design Award. Hy is op 9 April 2013, op 93-jarige ouderdom, by sy huis aan natuurlike oorsake oorlede.
