Die schottischen Fußball-Journalisten vergeben seit 1965 jährlich die Auszeichnung „Scottish Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year“. Die Mitglieder der schottischen Profifußballer-Gewerkschaft PFA bestimmen seit 1978 den Titel „Scottish PFA Players’ Player of the Year“.
