ZnanyLekarz is a Polish online healthcare platform for finding healthcare professionals, reading patient reviews and booking appointments. It is the Polish brand of Docplanner, a healthcare technology company based in Warsaw.
The website began in 2007 as a directory where patients could review doctors. Appointment booking and software for medical practices were added later.
History Polish programmer Marek Wróbel launched ZnanyLekarz in 2007. The early version of the site was a directory of doctors, with information about their qualifications and a section for patient reviews. Mariusz Gralewski, founder of the professional networking site GoldenLine, later acquired ZnanyLekarz. Online appointment booking features was added afterwards.
ZnanyLekarz then became the starting point for Docplanner’s expansion. Docplanner expanded into other countries and acquired platforms including Doctoralia in Spain.
By 2019, Poland accounted for about a quarter of Docplanner's business. ZnanyLekarz was then working with more than 15,000 doctors, psychologists and physiotherapists in the Polish healthcare market.
In 2023, Docplanner acquired MyDr, a Polish provider of medical practice management software. MyDr developed software for electronic medical records and the administration of medical and dental practices.
At the time, ZnanyLekarz worked with about 24,000 healthcare professionals and handled more than one million appointments per month in Poland.
Services ZnanyLekarz allows patients to search for doctors and other healthcare professionals by specialty and location and book appointments. It also supports online consultations.
For healthcare professionals and medical facilities, ZnanyLekarz provides software for scheduling, patient communication and practice administration. Through MyDr, it also provides software for electronic medical records and the administration of medical and dental practices.
Reviews and legal disputes Patient reviews were part of ZnanyLekarz from its early years. Their verification and moderation became a source of disputes with some doctors.
In 2014, ZnanyLekarz introduced stricter verification of reviewers. Patients who booked an appointment through ZnanyLekarz could leave a review. Other users could view their identity through Facebook. ZnanyLekarz said the change was meant to make reviews more reliable and respond to concerns from doctors.
ZnanyLekarz has also been involved in legal disputes over reviews published on doctors' profiles. In 2023, the Regional Court in Warsaw ruled in favour of a physician who sued the platform over a negative review. She said the review described an appointment that never took place and asked ZnanyLekarz to remove it. The court ruled in her favour and awarded her 10,000 złoty in compensation for the infringement of her personal rights.
ZnanyLekarz appealed the ruling. On 20 March 2025, the Warsaw Court of Appeal dismissed the appeal, leaving the earlier judgment in place.
