DNA is a Filipino P-pop girl group composed of sisters Ezri, Julia, and Tasha Mitra. The trio debuted under StarPop on October 9, 2025, with the single "Don't Ask Me Why". They released their self-titled debut album, DNA, on July 17, 2026.

The sisters are the daughters of composer and musical director Raul Mitra and singer Cacai Velasquez-Mitra, and nieces of singer Regine Velasquez.

History

2025: Formation as DNA and debut Before adopting the name DNA, Ezri, Julia, and Tasha performed together as the Mitra Sisters. They signed management contracts with Star Magic on July 24, 2025. Their early public appearances included guest performances at SuperDivas, the two-night concert by Regine Velasquez and Vice Ganda at the Araneta Coliseum on August 8 and 9.

The group name refers to the sisters' shared family connection and their view that music is part of their identity. Ezri, the eldest member, said that the name represented both their bond as sisters and the idea that music "runs in our blood".

StarPop announced the trio as DNA on October 7, ahead of the release of "Don't Ask Me Why" on October 9. The song was written by Ezri and produced by Jonathan Manalo, with lyrics centred on confidence and self-expression. Following their debut, the group appeared on the Sunday variety programme ASAP to perform the single.

2026–present: Debut album and Eurovision Song Contest Asia selection DNA returned in February 2026 with "BINGO", their second single. Written by Ezri and produced by Manalo, the song adopted a bubblegum-pop sound. Around the same period, the trio performed at Bini's Binified concert at the Philippine Arena.

In April, DNA collaborated with SM Supermalls and StarPop on "Gala To The Max", which was released as an anthem for the mall chain. Its accompanying music video was filmed at SM Mall of Asia. On June 24, the group performed "Don't Ask Me Why" and "BINGO" at the inaugural P-POP UNITE: The Convention at One Ayala in Makati.

The trio released their self-titled debut studio album on July 17. The eight-track record includes the previously released "Don't Ask Me Why", "BINGO", and "Gala To The Max", while "Spider" was promoted as its lead track with an accompanying music video.

On August 16, DNA performed alongside BGYO and Wrive at the Kadayawan Vibe P-pop Fest at SM Lanang in Davao City.

The group was selected as one of ten competing acts in the Philippines' national selection for the inaugural Eurovision Song Contest Asia. Their entry, "Between Bituin", was released on August 17, 2026, ahead of Philippine Selection Night, the country's national selection show for the contest. DNA performed the song at the selection show on August 30.

Artistry The group has described its sound as primarily pop, drawing from R&B, dance-pop, rap, and hip-hop. Its self-titled debut album also explored electronic pop, rock, and more experimental production. The sisters have cited second-generation K-pop as an early influence, recalling that they performed along to Wonder Girls' "Nobody" when they were younger.

Songwriting has been part of DNA's work since its debut. Ezri wrote "Don't Ask Me Why" and "BINGO", while all three members contributed to the songwriting and development of their debut album.
