Pharmaceutical Sciences is a peer-reviewed open-access academic journal covering all areas of pharmaceutical sciences. It is the official journal of the School of Pharmacy at Tabriz University of Medical Sciences and is published by the TUOMS press. With roots tracing back to 1960, the journal has been formally published since 1994 and is considered one of the oldest pharmaceutical sciences journals in Iran.
History The journal's origins date back to 1960, but its first official issue was published in 1994 under the title "Pharmaceutical Sciences, the Journal of Pharmacy Faculty of Tabriz". Initially published in Persian with English abstracts, it transitioned to a fully English-language, quarterly journal in 2012. The founding editor-in-chief was Professor Jalil Afshar (1994-2000), followed by Professor Ali Nokhodchi (2000–2009), Professor Abbas Delazar (2009–2013), and Professor Alireza Garjani (2013–2020). Dr. Ali Shayanfar served as the Executive Editor from 2013 to 2020 and has been the Editor-in-Chief since November 2020.
