Martina Navratilova and Pam Shriver were the defending champions, but Navratilova did not compete this year. Shriver teamed up with JoAnne Russell and lost in the first round to Hana Mandlíková and Helena Suková.
Barbara Potter and Sharon Walsh won the title by defeating Leslie Allen and Anne White 6–1, 6–7(7–9), 6–2 in the final.
