Defending champion Holger Rune defeated Botic van de Zandschulp in a rematch of the previous year's final, 6–4, 1–6, 7–6(7–3) to win the singles tennis title at the 2023 Bavarian International Tennis Championships. In the third set of the final, Rune recovered from being a double-break down and saved four championship points en route to victory. Seeds The top four seeds received a bye into the second round.
