Presidential elections were held in Ecuador in May 1975.Elecciones y Democracia en el Ecuador TSE The result was a victory for incumbent president Gabriel García Moreno,Georg Maier (1971) "Presidential Succession in Ecuador, 1830-1970" Journal of Interamerican Studies and World Affairs, volume 13, p508 who received over 99% of the vote. García was assassinated in August and fresh elections were held in October.
