Inverclyde South is one of the seven wards used to elect members of the Inverclyde Council. It elects three Councillors.
The ward includes southern areas of Greenock: neighbourhoods such as Bow Farm, Coves, Cowdenknowes, Gateside, Penny Fern, Ravenscraig and Smithston, plus a small part of the town centre (west of Broomhill Street, roughly between and railway stations).
