Reception Jonathan Holland of Variety gave the movie a positive review saying that is "strongly scripted and well-played treat convincingly employs thriller elements to make its heavyweight agenda palatable." In his review for The New York Times, Stephen Holden wrote that "is a timely if overly schematic meditation on the gloomier implications of the notion that indeed we're all connected."
For Screen International, Sheila Johnston wrote that "while the movie has faults, the bulk of it is forceful and emotionally involving".
