Agnieszka Radwańska defeated Johanna Konta 6–4, 6–2 in the final, to win her second China Open title. It was Radwańska's 20th and last singles crown before her retirement in 2018.
Garbiñe Muguruza was the defending champion, but lost in the third round to Petra Kvitová.
