Jumbo Pictures was an American animation studio founded by Jim Jinkins and David Campbell on July 20, 1990.
On February 29, 1996, Disney, which had completed its purchase of ABC nearly 3 weeks prior on February 9, purchased Jumbo Pictures, primarily to add Doug to their roster of properties.
The purchase was first announced in January 1996, and the rights of the IP had reverted to Jumbo. Jumbo Pictures' Doug had been a key show of Disney's One Saturday Morning since 1997. Jumbo Pictures also made one film, Doug's 1st Movie, in 1999.
The studio dissolved on October 15, 2000. The founders had moved on to found Cartoon Pizza after Jumbo was dissolved.
