In 1999 SSCCP was transformed into a public economic institutionDecreto Legislativo 29 ottobre 1999, n. 540"Riordino delle stazioni sperimentali per l'industria, a norma dell'articolo 11 della legge 15 marzo 1997, n. 59" with important legal, operational and administrative modifications which, however, have left its mission and functions unchanged.
