The Oncala Group is a geological formation in the Cameros Basin (N Spain). It dates back to the Berriasian.Oncala Group at Fossilworks.orgWeishampel, David B; et al. (2004). "Dinosaur distribution (Late Jurassic, Europe)." In: Weishampel, David B.; Dodson, Peter; and Osmólska, Halszka (eds.): The Dinosauria, 2nd, Berkeley: University of California Press. Pp. 545–549. . It includes more than 2000 m of sediments that comprise siliciclastic fluvial-tidal deposits, which change laterally eastwards and upwards to predominantly carbonate-sulphate deposits formed in shallow coastal salinas . Its deposition was controlled by the development of synsedimentary faults that produced significant thickness variations .
