Die Mu-Us-Wüste oder Maowusu Shamo () im Zentrum des Ordos-Plateaus grenzt im Süden an die Provinz Shaanxi und reicht im Norden bis an die Stadt Ordos in der Inneren Mongolei.
Die „Weiße Stadt“ (; mongolisch Qagan hot) liegt an ihrem Rand.
