Der Los Angeles Times Book Prize ist ein renommierter Literaturpreis, der seit 1980 jährlich von der Los Angeles Times verliehen wird.
Die Preise werden in insgesamt vierzehn Kategorien (Stand 2021) für herausragende literarische Werke bzw. in Anerkennung eines Lebenswerks verliehen. Dazu gehören: Biographie, aktuelles Interesse, Fiktion, Erstlingswerk (seit 1991), Geschichtliches, Lyrik, Wissenschaft/Technik (seit 1989), Jugendbuch (seit 1998), Mystery/Thriller (seit 2000), Innovatives (seit 2009), Graphic Novel (seit 2009), autobiographische Literatur (seit 2016) sowie Science Fiction/Fantasy/Spekulative Fiktion (der Ray Bradbury Prize, seit 2019); dazu kommt der Robert Kirsch Award für einen lebenden Autor aus dem Westen der USA, benannt nach Robert Kirsch, dem langjährigen Literaturkritiker der Los Angeles Times. Jede Kategorie ist mit einem Preisgeld in Höhe von 500 Dollar, der Robert Kirsch Award mit 1000 Dollar dotiert. Neun verschiedene unabhängige Jurys mit je drei Mitgliedern entscheiden über die Vergabe der Preise. Die Auszeichnungen erfolgen jeweils im Frühjahr rückwirkend für im vorangegangenen Kalenderjahr erschienene Werke.
