Hertford and Stortford ist ein Wahlkreis () in der Grafschaft Hertfordshire im Osten Englands, der einen Abgeordneten ins britische Unterhaus (House of Commons) entsendet. Er besteht seit 1983 und liegt im Bezirk East Hertfordshire. Bedeutende Orte im Wahlkreis sind Bishop’s Stortford, Hertford, Sawbridgeworth und Ware.
Geschichte Die Boundary Commission for England schuf den Wahlkreis im Hinblick auf die Unterhauswahl 1983. Er entstand aus Teilen der aufgelösten Wahlkreise East Hertfordshire und Hertford and Stevenage. 1997, 2010 und 2024 nahm die Boundary Commission im Rahmen periodischer Überprüfungen verschiedene Änderungen des Grenzverlaufs vor.
Der Wahlkreis umfasst folgende Gebiete: 1983–1997: im East Hertfordshire District die Wards Bishop’s Stortford Central, Bishop’s Stortford Chantry, Bishop’s Stortford Parsonage, Bishop’s Stortford Thorley, Braughing, Buntingford, Hertford Bengeo, Hertford Castle, Hertford Kingsmead, Hertford Sele, Hunsdon, Little Hadham, Much Hadham, Sawbridgeworth, Standon St Mary, Stapleford, Tewin, Thundridge, Ware Christchurch, Ware Priory, Ware St Mary’s und Ware Trinity 1997–2010: im East Hertfordshire District die Wards Bishop’s Stortford Central, Bishop’s Stortford Chantry, Bishop’s Stortford Parsonage, Bishop’s Stortford Thorley, Great Amwell, Hertford Bengeo, Hertford Castle, Hertford Kingsmead, Hertford Sele, Hunsdon, Little Amwell, Much Hadham, Sawbridgeworth, Stanstead, Ware Christchurch, Ware Priory, Ware St Mary’s und Ware Trinity 2010–2024: im East Hertfordshire District die Wards Bishop’s Stortford All Saints, Bishop’s Stortford Central, Bishop’s Stortford Meads, Bishop’s Stortford Silverleys, Bishop’s Stortford South, Great Amwell, Hertford Bengeo, Hertford Castle, Hertford Heath, Hertford Kingsmead, Hertford Sele, Hunsdon, Much Hadham, Sawbridgeworth, Stanstead Abbots, Ware Chadwell, Ware Christchurch, Ware St Mary’s und Ware Trinity seit 2024: im East Hertfordshire District die Wards Bishop’s Stortford All Saints, Bishop’s Stortford Central, Bishop’s Stortford North, Bishop’s Stortford Parsonage, Bishop’s Stortford South, Bishop’s Stortford Thorley Manor, Hertford Bengeo, Hertford Castle, Hertford Kingsmead, Hertford Sele, Hunsdon, Much Hadham, Sawbridgeworth, Ware Priory, Ware Rural (teilweise), Ware St Mary’s und Ware Trinity
Vier Jahrzehnte lang galt Hertford and Stortford als Hochburg der Conservative Party, deren Kandidaten hier stets gewählt wurden. Dies änderte sich bei der Unterhauswahl 2024, als die Abgeordnete Julie Marson fast die Hälfte ihrer bisherigen Wählerschaft verlor; dies ermöglichte es Josh Dean, den Sitz erstmals für die Labour Party zu gewinnen.
