Bei der Gemeindereform am 1. Januar 2023 wurde die Anzahl der Verwaltungseinheiten (government entities) in New Brunswick von 390 auf 77 reduziert. Nach der Gemeindereform gab es noch 21 Gemeinden vom Status Village.
Die Gemeinden haben einen der folgenden Status: City, Town, Village, Rural Community, Regional Community. „Entity“ ist eine interne Nummerierung der Gemeinden. Das Gründungsjahr bezieht sich auf das Jahr, in welchem die Gemeinde ihren aktuellen Status erlangt hat. Die Liste beinhaltet eine Zuordnung zur Regional Service Commission (RSC). Ferner beinhaltet die Liste eine grobe Zuordnung einer Gemeinde zu einem County. Letztere sind seit Jahren keine gültigen Verwaltungseinheiten. Manche Gemeindegebiete erstrecken sich über mehr als ein County.
Die Gemeindeflächen nach der Gemeindereform 2023 sowie die Einwohnerzahlen gemäß dem Zensus 2026 sind noch nicht verfügbar.
