Meadows ist mit dem Philosophiedozenten Toby Meadows verheiratet. Sie haben einen Sohn, der während ihres Aufenthalts im Vereinigten Königreich geboren wurde, und leben jetzt in Brisbane. Meadows ist bisexuell und hat sich 2015 als Genderqueer geoutet.
