Mark Petrie (* 20. Mai 1979 in Auckland, Neuseeland) ist ein neuseeländischer Komponist für Film-, Fernseh- und Computerspielmusik.
Frühes Leben und Einflüsse Petrie ist in Auckland, Neuseeland geboren und dort aufgewachsen. Er begann seine frühe musikalische Ausbildung während des achtjährigen Studiums an der Dilworth School, wo er Klavier und Komposition studierte. Nachdem er ein Stipendium für das Film-Scoring am Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA, erhalten hatte, zog er in die Vereinigten Staaten und absolvierte einen Abschluss in Filmmusik.
Künstlerische Arbeit Nach seinem Abschluss am Berklee College of Music erhielt Petrie den Pete Carpenter Film Composing Fellow von der BMI Foundation.
Er zog nach Los Angeles, um unter der Leitung des Grammy-prämierten Komponisten Mike Post zu arbeiten. Dann begann er für Fernsehprogramme und Independent-Filme zu schreiben. Im Jahr 2007 arbeitete er mit PostHaste Music zusammen, um Musik für Trailer zu komponieren. Petrie ist in seinen Kompositionen dafür bekannt, „zeitgenössische Elemente über episches Orchesterschreiben zu verbreiten“ (Output.com).
