Montague Ewing (* 21. Mai 1890 in East Ham; † 4.

Mai 1890 in Eastham, London, England geboren. Catalog of Copyright Entries: Musical compositions, Teil 3, S. 1066 zu: Wind in the Poplars, von Rex Avon [ps. of Montague Ewing], Musik von Sherman Myers [ps. of Montague Ewing] 6. Juli 1940. E for 63 273; Keith Prowse & Co. Ltd. London. #25 109 Herbert Carrington, Brian Hope, Paul Hoffmann und vor allem Sherman Myers.Ian Whitcomb schreibt dazu: …decided if he anointed himself with a Jewish-American moniker he might have a better chance with the punters…

Catalog of Copyright Entries, Teil 3, Ausgaben 5–6, Library of Congress, Copyright Office, S. 424: A Garden in Brittany. 4. Oft weisen Zusätze wie A Humorous Interlude oder Humourous One or Two-Stepvgl. auch The Tinker's 1 or 2 Step. With a Tin Can Accompaniment (“mit Blechdosenbegleitung”) oder a ridiculous situation in fox-trot tempo auf den heiteren Charakter des Musikstückes hin.Philip L. Scowcroft: A First Garland of British Light Music Composers: Montague Ewing (1890–1957). Abgerufen am 27. Februar 2015.

Auf exotische Fernen wies er mit seinen orientalischen Foxtrotts Moonlight on the Ganges oder When Lights Are Low in Cairo hin.
