Lee „Scratch“ Perry bei Trojan Records.: „…it was the first Jamaican pop record to use the loping, lazy, bass-driven beat that would soon become identified as the reggae ‚riddim‘ and signal the shift from the hyperkinetically upbeat ska to the pulsing, throbbing languor of ‚roots‘ reggae.“

The Upsetters – Return of Django bei Discogs.

David Katz: Glen Adams obituary in: The Guardian vom 6. Januar 2011. Für die Wailers-Singles Sun Is Shining und Mr Brown / Dracula engagierte Perry die Band Soul Syndicate (George „Fully“ Fullwood am E-Bass, Tony Chin (Rhythmusgitarre), Cleon Douglas (Leadgitarre) und Carlton Davis am Schlagzeug) aushilfsweise als Upsetters.David Katz: People Funny Boy.

The Upsetters – Super Ape bei Discogs.

Mad Professor: Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry remembered by Neil ‘Mad Professor’ Fraser in: The Guardian vom 12. Dezember 2021.
