David Bakan: The duality of human existence: An essay on psychology and religion, 1966 Die Arbeiten vieler jüngerer Sozialpsychologen, etwa die von Jerry Wiggins, bauen auf Bakans Ideen auf.Jerry Wiggins: Agency and communion as conceptual coordinates for the understanding and measurement of interpersonal behavior, W.M. Grove, D. Cicchetti (Hrsg.): Thinking Clearly about Psychology, Band 2: Personality and Psychopathology, Minneapolis, MN, University of Minnesota Press, 1991, S. 89–113
