Es gibt mehr als 5800 Einzeleinträge und historische Distrikte im National Register of Historic Places in diesem US-Bundesstaat. Es gibt sie in allen 62 Countys des Bundesstaates. 258 dieser Einträge sind außerdem als National Historic Landmarks ausgewiesen.
Die Zahl der individuell eingetragenen Anwesen und historischen Distrikte geht aus dem National Register nicht unmittelbar hervor. Die hier angegebenen Zahlen ergeben sich aus Auflistung der Einträge nach den einzelnen Countys.Die genannten Zahlen beruhen auf den bestmöglichen Informationen. Da es häufig neue Einträge gibt und gelegentlich Einträge widerrufen werden, spiegeln diese Angaben unter Umständen nicht den neuesten Stand wider. Vergrößerungen der Begrenzungen von historischen Distrikten werden nicht als zusätzlicher Eintrag gezählt, auch wenn diese in der Regel eine neue Identifizierungsnummer durch den National Park Service erhalten. Eine Ausnahme von diesem Vorgehen stellt jedoch der Grand Central Terminal Park Avenue Viaduct dar, der hier als eigene Ressource gezählt wird, obwohl das Bauwerk eigentlich als Ergänzung des Grand Central Terminal in das Register aufgenommen wurde.
