Typhonia nigrescens is een vlinder uit de familie zakjesdragers (Psychidae). De wetenschappelijke naam van deze soort is, als Melasina nigrescens, voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1920 door Edward Meyrick., 1920c: Descriptions of South African Microlepidoptera.
