Larimus pacificus is een straalvinnige vissensoort uit de familie van ombervissen (Sciaenidae). De wetenschappelijke naam van de soort is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1890 doorJordan & Bollman., "Description of New Species of Fishes Collected at the Galapagos Islands and along the Coast of the United States of Colomba, 1887-'88." Proceedings of the United States National Museum, vol. XII, 1889 (Washington, 1890), blz. 149 De soort komt voor in de Stille Oceaan tussen Panama en Colomba.
De soort staat op de Rode Lijst van de IUCN als niet bedreigd, beoordelingsjaar 2007.
