Acanthostracion is een geslacht van straalvinnige vissen uit de familie van de koffervissen (Ostraciidae). De wetenschappelijke naam van het geslacht is, als naam voor een ondergeslacht van Ostracion, voor het eerst gepubliceerd in 1865 door Pieter Bleeker., 1865.
