Doosvissen (Aracanidae) zijn een familie van straalvinnige vissen uit de orde kogelvisachtigen (Tetraodontiformes). De naam van dit taxon werd in 1941 gepubliceerd door Alec Fraser-Brunner.volgens FishBase De groep is ook wel als onderfamilie Aracaninae van de familie koffervissen (Ostraciidae) opgevatTyler, J.C., 1980. Bij de soorten uit deze familie is de "carapax", het benige, uit vergroeide schubben bestaande pantser, achter de rug- en de aarsvin open, terwijl dat bij de nauw verwante koffervissen ten minste achter de aarsvin gesloten is.
