Procapperia insomnis is een vlinder uit de familie vedermotten (Pterophoridae). De wetenschappelijke naam van deze soort is, als Capperia insomnis, voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1956 door Townsend., 1956: A new species of African plume moths. Occasional Papers of the natural history museum in South Rhodesia 3(21B): 93–94. De combinatie in Procapperia werd door Kovtunovich, Ustjuzhanin & Murphy in 2014 gemaakt., 2014: Plume moths of Malawi (Lepidoptera: Pterophoridae). Zootaxa 3847(4): 451-494.
De soort komt voor in het Afrotropisch gebied.
