Stenocatantops is een geslacht van rechtvleugeligen uit de familie veldsprinkhanen (Acrididae). De wetenschappelijke naam van dit geslacht is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1953 door V. M. Dirsh. "New genera and synonymy notes in Acrididae." Tijdschrift voor entomologie vol. 96 (1953), blz. 237. Als typesoort werd Gryllus splendens Thunberg, 1815 aangenomen.
