Allocinopus is een geslacht van kevers uit de familie van de loopkevers (Carabidae).Anichtchenko A. et al., (editors): Carabidae of the World (bezocht: 20 tot 28 maart 2013) De wetenschappelijke naam van het geslacht is voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd in 1903 door Thomas Broun "Descriptions of new Genera and Species of New Zealand Coleoptera." The Annals and Magazine of Natural History 7th Ser. Vol. 11 (1903), blz. 607. Gearchiveerd op 20 oktober 2016. samen met de beschrijving van de eerste soort, Allocinopus sculpticollis uit Nieuw-Zeeland.
